Review our Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Room check-in time is 3 p.m. A hostess will greet you in the Main House lobby to check you in and answer any questions. Room check-out time is 11 a.m.

Built in 1914 in the Arts and Crafts style, Adelynrood is both gracious and rustic. It has wide screened porches, an abundance of rocking chairs and libraries for browsing. There are paths in the gardens and woods and outdoor benches where you can rest or meditate. We hope you will enjoy spending time in our rambling wooden house and the quiet spots on our 14-acre grounds.

Dress is casual. Boston-area weather is changeable, and the building is not insulated so bring a mix of items for warm days and chilly evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. If you are staying overnight, bring slippers and a robe since the bathrooms are shared on each corridor.

Each bedroom in the Main House has a twin bed (some have two twin beds), bureau, writing desk and curtained closet. Each bedroom has a personal size fan, a door or window to the outside, and a doorway curtain to take advantage of breezes and still have privacy. A few rooms are air-conditioned and are available on a first-come, first-served basis for those with a medical condition. There are no locks on the bedroom doors. To maintain our peaceful atmosphere, rooms are not equipped with telephones, alarm clocks, hairdryers or televisions. Linens and bath towels are provided. Adelynrood does not offer daily maid service.

Sound carries far in the Main House so we ask guests to refrain from using cell phones in the Main House bedrooms and the libraries.

We ring bells before services, meals and meetings.

The Adelynrood chef is known for his eclectic mix ranging from light and health-conscious “Spa Cuisine” to traditional American comfort foods. The menu is designed to use fresh seasonal ingredients and always includes fresh fruit and garden salads. Drinks and small snacks are available in the Dining Room. You are welcome to use the small pantry areas to make your own tea; however, these are not large enough for personal cooking. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know in advance.
