Companionship
The Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross or The Companionship
The Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross, also known as the Companionship or the Society, includes both lay and ordained women, called Companions. Emily Morgan’s vision was a religious association focused on the centrality of the Cross and intercessory prayer in a troubled and hurting world. It continues to offer women the sacrament of coming together in prayer and in person through local chapters and at Adelynrood.
Companions carry on their individual ministries primarily in their local churches and communities. The chapters support individual efforts with prayer and interest while individual Companions support the corporate ministry at Adelynrood financially and by volunteering. An elected Companion-in-Charge, other officers and committees oversee the operations, programs and outreach of the Society with support from a small professional staff.
