Funding Our Future
Our Future Begins Today!
Thanks to you and your gifts to Funding Our Future , we are now able to bring our dreams to life. We have raised $3,259,729 from 473 generous hearts (as 0f 12/31/15) and exceeded our goal of $3 million. After expenses, we are pleased to announce that we have $1,020,963 in gifts available to us to begin using now.
We will receive another $615,130 in pledge payments between now and the
end of 2020 to add to this balance.
We also have $1,137,600 in bequest intentions that count as part of our campaign total. These will be able to be used as they are realized, and will be allocated according to the campaign priorities.
The resources that are available now (and those that will come in the future) will be allocated as follows:
Two-thirds of the funds raised in the campaign will be added to the SCHC Investment Fund (our quasi-endowment fund) to strengthen our financial sustainability. This fund will provide our 5% prudent withdrawal amount and is not designed to be used for the other goals of the campaign and the Long-Range Plan. We will add $684,045 to this fund in January.
The remaining 1/3 of the funds raised ($336,917) will ultimately be deposited to the following funds and in January we will make the following allocations based on the funds available now:
or co-sponsored by the SCHC. Greater detail about this fund can be found on the Companion website and in articles in the months ahead. This sum is 25% of the remaining 1/3 of the currently available resources.
We will deposit $168,459 into a new fund called The Ministry and Outreach Enhancement Fund and will use it to strengthen our ministry and outreach. The fund will provide resources to enhance the use of our space at Adelynrood and to support programs and initiatives needed by Companions in their communities. Greater detail about this fund can be found on the Companion website and in articles in the months ahead. This sum is 50% of the remaining 1/3 of the currently available resources.
At the end of each quarter, expenses for chapter life, membership, diversity, visibility, ministry, and outreach that are to be covered by Funding Our Future funds will be identified and resources from one of the three designated funds above will be transferred to the operating account to cover them. We will monitor and report on money going into and out of these designated funds quarterly and define what was used from each and why.
You will hear from us often. Watch your email and check the website and our Newsletter regularly for updates. Because of Funding Our Future, our future is bright – and exciting! Thanks be to God!

Why it is important to donate to the Society - 2014 Video
Companions’ support of the SCHC and our ministry springs from our gratitude for God’s abundance and out of prayerful commitment to our ministry.
Companions faithfully care for and manage the heritage of spiritual, physical, and financial resources entrusted to us by Companions who came before.
The Society’s financial resources support and extend our ministry as God calls us into the future.
Companions build and sustain mutual bonds of affection with one another and among Chapters and support individual and corporate ministry.
