Spiritual experience is fundamental to human life, and the profound connection that exists between each individual and a reality larger than the narrow or personal self is at the heart of every religious tradition.                                                                 Jane Hirshfield

Our day of quiet and meditation will explore that spiritual experience in world-wide traditions through poetry, prayer and religious writings by both women and men. Our time will be spent in silence, reading and prayer.

Quiet Day: My Ways Are Not Your Ways

Leader: Lis Gordon, SCHC
Program includes: Lunch

September 1 (Wednesday 9:00 – 4:00)

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus uses many metaphors to describe the kingdom of heaven. He tries to teach his followers – and us - how we can learn to live the abundant life God wants for us. We seem more intent on following our own ways rather than accepting God’s invitation to be filled with joyful hope, deep-seated peace and wholeness. During this Quiet Day, we will explore how to live our lives from the incarnational center of our union with Christ so that we may become transformed into a “new creation” – unique, authentic, and fully human. In addition to meditations there will be ample time for rest, reflection, play, and creative expression.

Check-in 8:30 am Wednesday

Program Fee: $75.00

Total Cost: $75.00
